Upcoming Conferences
During the 2026–27 academic year, the Center for the Study of World Religions will continue its sustained exploration of Transcendentalism through the broader framework of the Center’s Transcendence and Transformation Initiative. Building on the momentum of last year’s newly launched Transcendentalism Initiative, the Center will convene scholars, writers, artists, and practitioners in an ongoing inquiry into the enduring spiritual, philosophical, literary, and artistic dimensions of transcendence in American and global traditions.
Through interconnected lines of inquiry into comparative mysticism, psychedelics and spirituality, nature and ecology, esotericism and art, and Transcendentalism as a living intellectual tradition, the CSWR continues to cultivate a distinctive intellectual space—one where rigorous scholarship, artistic practice, and public engagement deepen and transform one another.
