Megan Marshall

Megan Marshall is the author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Margaret Fuller: A New American Life (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2013), Elizabeth Bishop: A Miracle for Breakfast (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2013), and The Peabody Sisters (Mariner, 2006), a Pulitzer Prize finalist. She is the Charles Wesley Emerson College Professor Emerita of nonfiction writing at Emerson College, a past president of the Society of American Historians, and a recipient of the BIO Award, the highest honor given by the Biographers International Organization. Her most recent book is After Lives: On Biography and the Mysteries of the Human Heart (Mariner, 2025).
