Emma Scharff

Student Research Assistant

Emma Scharff is a Master of Theological Studies candidate at Harvard Divinity School focusing on religion, literature, and culture. She studies twentieth- and twenty-first-century American poetry, exploring how experimental poetics reach toward the sacred as they push at the limits of language. She is especially interested in how difficult writing demands certain forms of attention and relation—including devotion, humility, and awe. Originally from Maryland, Scharff holds a BA in English from Haverford College.
