Shannon Taggart is an American photographer, writer, researcher, and curator known for exploring how photography can navigate boundaries between the seen and unseen. Her projects address the intersection of art, anthropology, and the supernatural. Her work has been exhibited internationally and featured by CNN Style, Bookforum, New York Times T Style Magazine, Financial Times, Lensculture, Le Monde, The Washington Post, and The Paris Review. Her book, Séance, was named one of TIME magazine’s “30 Best Photobooks of 2019.” She is currently working on an illustrated book about The Society for Research on Rapport and Telekinesis (SORRAT), one of the strangest cases in the history of parapsychology.
