2016 CSWR Annual Pumpkin Carving

October 30th witnessed the Center’s annual pumpkin carving, a traditional fall celebration that brings together current and former residents, staff, and friends of the Center. It is said that even 50 years ago, the Center witnessed the carving of pumpkins, and if so, it is one of our oldest traditions. After carving, some remain in the courtyard, as pictured below; some migrate to apartment doorsteps; and some travel away from the Center, to homes elsewhere. This is a most convivial and enjoyable event, a piece of communal life and lore that manifest the Center’s soul.
