Described as “riveting” (The New York Times), Jane’s compositions focus on the experience of altered or transformative states. Her body of work includes chamber music, opera installations, electronic music, works for dance companies, and large-scale sound installations for museums and other public spaces. Jane regularly collaborates with visual artists, dancers, and architects. Recent works also incorporate aroma, informed by residencies in Australia and Japan. Jane holds a PhD in Music Composition from the University of Sydney. She has performed at Lincoln Center Festival, Sydney Festival, Jerusalem Sacred Music Festival, and Tokyo Festival, and spent several years in the touring ensemble for John Zorn, singing at the Louvre, the Guggenheim, and the Barbican. Jane is an Artistic Associate at Sydney Chamber Opera. Her album I am a tree, I am a mouth was listed in The New Yorker Notable Performances and Recordings of 2022. Her latest album, Flowermuscle, was released in June 2025. Both albums are part of an ongoing body of work setting the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke.
