Video: A Celebration of the Humble Sublime

On May 5, the Center for the Study of World Religions hosted a celebration of the late Ronald F. Thiemann's work "The Humble Sublime: Secularity and the Politics of Belief." Thiemann was a former dean of HDS.

Those who gathered to share their memories of Thiemann and this important work included Anne Monius, Professor of South Asian Religions and Acting Director of the CSWR; Jonathan L. Walton, Plummer Professor of Christian Morals and Pusey Minister in the Memorial Church (FAS) and Professor of Religion and Society (HDS); Harvard PhD candidates Sutopa Dasgupta and Michelle Sanchez; Amy Hollywood, Elizabeth H. Monrad Professor of Christian Studies; Mara Willard, HDS Lecturer, and Matthew Potts, Assistant Professor of Ministry Studies at HDS. Thiemann's widow, Beth Thiemann, presented a copy of her late husband's book to Douglas Gragg, librarian of Andover-Harvard Theological Library.
